Born on February 10, 1995, in GotÅ, Nagasaki, Kawaguchi started her career as a model for the teen fashion magazine Nicola in 2007. She won the Grand Prix at the 11th Nicola audition and became a regular model for the magazine until 2011. She also appeared in various commercials, music videos, and variety shows during this period. She made her acting debut in 2009 with a supporting role in the Fuji TV drama Tokyo Dogs.
